My book "The Call" has had its first restart! That is something that I had done 50 times with "The Unaware and I hope that "The Call" doesn't get to out of hand. I have also been writing a lot of random little things (which then instantly get deleted) just for style training! Well enjoy this bit of "The Call"
The forest of Averwood wa a very peaceful lovely place. The trees in the forest grew majestically; reaching mightly to the sky. The plants beautifully grew throughot the forest adding a touch of beauty as mist flowed free amoungst the stong trees. Then the most breautiful feature of the forest sprung in rare places, the Inyakeya flower. This blue flower added to the mysteriousness of the forest. Its wonder, its beauty, and its rarity caused many to wonder how something so wonderful could dwell in world so torn. It ws this flower that Keya was named after.
Inyakeya was her real name. As she glaced across the distance toward the wondrous forest of Averwood, she reflected unpon its beauty. It was a beautiful place, yet she avoided it. No one who ever had dared to venture into the forest had returned. In the decades that had passed Averwood had become a feared place. The Sarths that had once dwelled there left is shrouded in a mystery which drove fear into the hearts of most. No, she would not dare venture there, for she cared little for a land that might breing back memories of the home she lost.
Keya was an elf, a beautiful simple elf. One of the few who dared to venture out of the closed borders of the Elven cities. She had given up her home to help those outside her kingdom. This had cost her everything she had know, yet she was strangely untouched by the loss. Maybe this was just because nothing in her home had ever felt right.
Slowly she pondered her own past as she came over a hill. She was weary and wounded. A large gash through her side had worn her almost to nothing. The bandaging did little to help her. Her travels had been long and a welcome sight loomed her the hill; a village. The land of Tyven was filled with villages such as this one, they were places where humans from the land of Kantra had escaped.
Kantra had long been war torn fighting off the evil of Despreg and fighing with the War-Yies. The kings of Kantra had never been very friendly with the War-Yies but the war with them had become silly and had only left both sides weak and suceptible to Despreg. Most deaperate Kantrans had fled into the deserted Elven lands of Tyven. Keya had fought in Wirlyle and Kantra against the armies of Wirv, in both places she had witnessed extreme pain.
She slowly descende the hill toward the small village. Her hair done in such a way to hide the pointed ears that marked her. There were less than five elves who had dared to enter into the conflicts and they ussually were not trusted.
Keya never doubted that her descision to leave was the right one. There were ways to heal the lands. She knew all the ‘prophecies’ and predictions that had been made and she had yet to find any of them coming true. She had pledged to herself that she would find someone to save the landd if she did not take it all into her own hands.
As she entered the village, she saw many different sorts of people and was glad for the diversity. The village seemed to be one of the more advanced, having a blacksmith, inn, tavern, and assorted shops. She looked for a Hulea where she could purchase something to put on her wound. She felt a wave of diziness sweep over her and she stumbled. She heard a man yell and saw people running to her as she collapsed. Everything began to fade as she fought for waht consiousness she had left. It as all to much and soon her world faded into black.I have to say that right now I really enjoy writing Keya. When I first created her I was going to introduce her later in the story but I decided to begin with her because I think she is one of the best characters I ever have created. Her beauty, strength, and will to help others has caused me to really enjoy her. She is suppost to be a light in the midst of this story.
The story basically follows Telian, who is a young boy at the beginning of the story. He is called "Tek" by Keya who sees him as the future savior of the world. As time goes on Telian is separated form Keya, who was previously guiding him, and he is forced to face his destiny on his own. With that he watches people around him make mistakes and fall into nothingness as he himself chooses to do the right thing and reunite a broken land. I know that Telian will survive it all but I am not sure what Keya's fate will be. My main characters will all be characters that people will love at the end, not characters that people despise. Therefore they will all be moral and upright.
REVIEW: Prince Caspian. Now that it has been released I can say that I did enjoy this movie. Thought it was not perfect I got exactly what I wanted: Swordfights! Some problems with it were the Rivalry between Peter and Caspian which totally diverted from the book and was absolutely distracting; to the point where you want Edmund to take charge and get rid of the whiny blockheads. Another problem was that the Susan/Caspian romance was rather undeveloped and sudden. They should have done away with it completely or actually developed it. Lucy was brilliant and again stole the film. Edmund the Just was the greatest character there, supporting everyone and being a voice of wisdom. Aslan was beautiful though rather unincluded. The River was just as cool as the book described him. Overall I loved the scale of the film, while it is definatly not Lord of the Rings its better than any movie that I have seen recently. I rate it 4.5/5 stars and look forward to the next one.
