Poetic Exercises, Politics, and School Fun!

Lately school has been a big thing in my life as it is my last year and I want to do well! In history class I was assigned the task of researching the two presidential candidates Obama and McCain. The job was to research one and then do the other next Wednesday. I chose to do Obama fist. The research was to be conducted only on the candidates website so I got to read what Obama supporters think about Obama. It was an interesting task considering that the website was very poorly designed and hard to navigate on the schools horrible PC's.

I learned that Obama things that Faith is important and that he plans to reform things. The problem is I couldn't quite understand how he was going to change things. Maybe its because I was absolutely bored to tears and the site didn't say much of anything worth saying. Better luck on McCain's wesite? I hope! I don't want to bore myself to death when researching the candidate I actually like.

I watched Sarah Palin's speech last night and was very impressed, I think she was the best choice! Her swipes at Obama were funny, her joke about hockey moms was great, and the rest of her speech was very well delivered. Great going for her, if you didn't see it Itunes is offering free downloads of all the political speeches at the conventions, so go there and download it.

In English class yesterday my teacher assigned us the task of writing a poem in a very specific style. The end result was more like a sentence than a poem but it was such an easy assignment that I quite enjoyed it. Here's my poem:



THE SILVER KEYBOARD

So much depends
upon

The silver
keyboard

Cluttered with music
sheets

beside the empty guitar
stand



Interesting huh? I was just glad she didn't make us write something deep. She also had us turn in a paper on an old AP English prompt. She was probably expecting us to write on the books she assigned us to read over the summer but I skipped to "Persuasion" by Jane Austen which is a much better book than the whole summer reading list. I was very delighted earlier this year when I found out that all Jane Austen books were accepted on the AP Literature exam. I've read them all except "Northanger Abbey" and I understand each story better than anything else on the AP list. So I think that I was throughly prepared for the test before the summer even began and now I look forward to it.

Honors Calculus and Physics are enjoyable classes but nothing exciting ever happens in them.

I plan on hopefully doing a few photo shoots in the not to distant future. The last photos I got were at my cousins birthday party a few weeks ago so I have a lot of catching up to do.

REVIEW!!!!

I was shocked when i saw Rachael Lampa performing at the RNC on Tuesday but I quite enjoyed her performance. It reminded me that she was still recording, though she only sang old songs. Part of the performance was obviously tracked as many instruments were playing but there was only a guitarist up on stage with her but her vocals were amazing. The CCM princess still has it in her to deliver a great performance. I look forward to see if she will make her comeback soon!
