Near the end

Tomorrow is my last day of school for the semester here and Point loma. It is kinda exciting making it through the first one but thinking about seven more is kinda overwhelming!

I hope it rains tomorrow, at the beginning of this week we had a huge blackout because of the rain! It was so awful because so many of us had home work we couldn't work on! Sadly the power came back on and no morning classes were cancelled.

1 Week

So I moved into Point Loma one week ago and things have been great. I might go into more detail about it later.

Here's a song I wrote. It took me forever to write it but after a year I final have it done.

Through The Setting Sun
You’re by my side
With each crashing wave
In Your arms I’ll Abide

You’re in me
Lord and I’m in You
I see Your glory
In everything You do
You’re here

Keep me safe
Keep me safe
Keep me safe in Your arms
With Your love
With Your peace
I will never lack a thing

In each star that shines
I see Your face
As every flower blooms
I’m reminded of Your grace

You hold my hand in Yours so tight
You heart will lead mine through the fight
You are here!

Keep me safe
Keep me safe
Keep me safe in Your arms
With Your love
With Your peace
I will never lack a thing

You guide my footsteps
So that I won’t ever fall

Keep me safe
Keep me safe
Keep me safe in Your arms
With Your love
With Your peace
I will never lack a thing

Christina's Birthday Party

Last night I went to my friend Christina's 18th birthday party. It was so much fun and I got a chance to see some of my friends from River Valley whom I haven't seen since graduation day. We talked and ate and played with a kitten and had a great time. Here are two photos from the event.

Here is a photo of me with Christina, the lovely birthday girl and one of my good friends.

Amy, Kylena, Christina, Melissa and Me! The River Valley group. These girls are so amazing, some of the sweetest people I have ever met and even though we're going to go our separate ways soon I have a feeling we will always be friends.

So that was my day yesterday. I am looking forward to today. New music Tuesday on Itunes!

Review: For this review I will tell you about one of me and my sisters favorite movies, "The Last of the Mohicans." This movie has it all, action, adventure, romance and tragedy. The ending is pulled off without very much dialogue at all and I still cried. Though there are some things about this movie I would change, more Uncas and Alice would be nice I thought it was a beautiful film with amazing scenery and a beautiful score. This movie has my sister showing it to all her friends any chance she gets. Warning: Do not watch if you don't like tragic films because this is a very sad movie. There is also some intense moments and some violent scenes.

Photos From Joshua and Ali's wedding

So I was looking around apeture and I realized I never posted these amazing photos from when we went to Joshua and Ali's wedding. Dressing up and taking pictures is so so much fun!

Jess and I with hair flying all over the place!

Another one of us three twins! Rebecca, Julie and I! We all got the same dresses, the same jewelry and the same basic hairdoos. It was so much fun!

Melissa and I, this one illustrates the windyness of the area very well.

Melissa and Rebecca! It was really windy out there as well so our hair was flying everywhere!

Rebecca and Julie! We all went a little crazy with taking photos while waiting for our car.

Me and Debbie. She looked so adorable!

Rebecca, Julie and Me! This is also inside the room the reception was in.

Nadine, Julie, Rebecca and Jess hanging out during the reception.

So happy August! 18 days until I move into Point Loma!

I had a fun day yesterday running around a mall with Julie, humming the mission impossible theme song and singing "No Fear" from the Swan Princess. Yeah we're a little crazy but we have fun being crazy. We discovered that VONS is cheaper than the expensive sweet factory and that Icing is cooler than Claires! Last night Melissa D-Arabian won "The Next Food Network Star" which is cool because she was who I wanted to win through the entire thing. What a day

I am excited now

Review: A little over a year ago Jump5, one of my favorite Christian Pop groups when I was little broke up and two of the alumni made a band called Guest. I had totally forgotten about them until today when I saw their EP on itunes and bought it. It amazed me because is was not the direction I expected them to go into. I thought they would go into more secular pop music but they seem to have stayed in the more Inspirational CCM Christian arena. My favorite song is "Cover My Eyes" because it is the most interesting of the three. I look forward to more of what they release, its more of a Bethany Dillon/ Britt Nicole style and I really like it!

Adventures

I had an adventure this week around the Point Loma campus! To think only three weeks next till I move in! I now have a large pile of things waiting to go in the corner of my room and I am going to add more too it before leaving!

I am so very excited the countdown beings now! Three weeks! Three weeks!

So there are many adventures to come for me. This is my last July post and I look forward to posting more in August as I move into Point Loma!

Review: This is more like a pre-review than a review. BarlowGirl is releasing a new album on September 22, 2009 called "Love and War." Being a huge BarlowGirl fan I have been waiting for previews of the songs and they have finally come! I have heard little spinets of the album and I do say that it is better than their last one and I liked their last one a lot. Highlight tracks I can't wait to hear are "Our Worlds Collide", "Love is Marching" and "Sing me a Love Song." When I do get the full album I'll review the entire thing!

Crippling Loss

There is a certain piece of technology that I have relied on too much in the past year. My lovely phone... Well it has been missing now for well over a month and I still remember the last day I used it, June 6th, 2009 right after graduation. I have no clue what had become of it or where it has fallen, all I am sure of is that it has not turned up and will not turn up. This is a sad loss as it is the cutest phone I have ever owned and I dread having to replace it with a stupid ugly free phone.

I am at my wits end trying to figure out where I have not searched for it and I have this sinking feeling it was stolen at the mall I went to on June 6th. Though that makes no sense to me as I still do not believe I had it at the mall it is the only logical thing I can think of.

The problem with loosing the phone is that it was so much more than just a device to call people with! It was my organizer. Now I have to depend on computer alerts and computer alarms. I'm not on my computer all day so this is causing me to be slightly more forgetful! I am just glad that it got lost after the school year was over because before would have been awful!

Well now its goodbye to the phone. I hope that my next phone has some of the beautiful features this phone had.

Honor Her: RIP Maximus

Is Rome worth one good Bunny's life? We believed it once. Make us believe it again. She was a soldier of Rome. Honour her.

You have proved your valour yet again, Maximus. For the last time.

Rest in peace Maximus. Your life was short and we knew you for but a week but your memory will hold firm in our hearts!

Goodbye Bunny.

*Tear* *Tear* *Sob* *Sob*

It's been a crazy ten minutes. I can't believe that the adorable baby bunny that we have had for just over a week has died so soon. I hate the merciless sun! It must of had a painful death alone in the heat, with Wallace sitting in the shade not knowing what to do! He would have saved her if he could have I know he would have! Now we look at Wallace, Hawk Eye, and Ehud and hold their lives more dear as we see how quickly an animal can die if left unattended for just 8 hours. Never again! If there is another Maximus in the future then we will attend her properly to keep her from the fate which took our beloved bunny!

2 Chicks and 1 dog! All must survive!

Scarlet By Stephen Lawhead

Awhile back a posted a review on a book called "Hood" the first in the retelling of Robin Hood by Stephen Lawhead. Seeing that BBC's Robin Hood show is over forever I decided to finish up the second book Scarlet so I could write whether I liked it or not. I am happy to say that though it was a bit hard to get into it was a good story full of crazy twists and turns. There was more about Bran in it than I expected after realizing that most of it was told in the first person of a new character, Will Scarlet. Now that I have finished the book I can gladly add it to my list of books that I have actually finished willingly. I wanted to get to the end of the book because there was so much at stake for the characters and near the end I really believed that a happy ending was coming though I knew there was a third book, sadly that end was not to be mine as the book left me hanging off a cliff waiting for the paperback of the third book to be released. If you enjoy Medieval Robin Hood stories or the fantasy writings of Tolikein and Lewis you will enjoy this book.

Goodbye Robin Hood

It seems the time has come to say goodbye to BBC's family television series, Robin Hood. It had a great first two runs with the third run being rocky after the sudden death of Marian. The third season was less family orientated as it was confusing and full of random action. Over the course of the third season the show lost 4 million viewers and the writers left the finale open after much tragedy. Many people were speculating about who would be the next Robin Hood after the death of our beloved hero. I was ready to give a fourth series a try but now it's over for good, BBC has axed Robin Hood. So now we say far well to a sometimes cheesy show but it will be missed.

Robin Hood Season 3

With the end of the third series of one of my favorite shows BBC's new "Robin Hood" being just around the corner I decided to review the rest of the season as a whole.

The series began with the lackluster episode "Total Eclipse" in which the new character of Brother Tuck was introduced. His character was meant to replace the missing Will and Djac but he added neither humor nor wisdom to the gang. The whole first episode consists of Tuck trying to help Robin overcome his anger over the death of Marian which ends in Robin becoming exaclty like he was in the first series. The episode's plot was too much for it's own good and in the end me and my two siblings were bored and appalled. So what kept me watching? Guy of Gisborne of course! His guilt over the death of Marian was well played out and his performance in the episode was amazing.

The new Gang introducing Kate and Tuck.

The next three episodes in the series served the introduce Kate with Gisborne being sent away for two of the three episodes. Without Gisborne the episodes were dull beyond belief and then the worse character in the history of Robin Hood was introduced. Kate became a wannabe Marian with her feisty attitude and horrible imitation hairdos! Instead of possessing the grace and charm of Marian she was downright annoying and whiny! Much and Allen both fell for her the moment they saw her but she seemed to have eyes only for Robin!

Episode 5 "Let the Games Commence" was very well done with the reintroduction of the new Gisborne whom seems more determined than ever to capture Robin Hood. Another Character introduced is Gisborne's sister the beautiful and charming Isabella. Robin rescues her from her pursuers at the beginning of the episode and immediately falls for her. She is very unlike her brother initially, she has heart and spirit! She truly cares for Robin and the people of Locksley. For the next two episodes she shines out along with Gisborne holding the series together then along came Episode 7.

The graceful Isabella.

In episode 7 Isabella and Robin's relationship was discovered by Gisborne whom was not pleased to say the least. The episode ended with Isabella revealing how much she was really like Guy with the writers having obvious characterization problems. Within the next few episodes Robin suddenly turns to Kate and Isabella suddenly randomly turns out to be more evil than the old Sheriff of Nottingham.

Prince John is introduced in episode 6 and 7 and he is the most annoying pushy character in the series besides Kate. He is not even funny to watch, he is just bad! He gets the Sheriff and Guy to fight each other which ends in the sheriff's death. Once he leaves things do get a little better.

Evil in its most annoying form; Prince John.

Light beings to shine as a new girl Meg comes into Guy's life while he is in prison. She see's the good in him, reminding him of Marian and how he could be a better man. After that the next few episodes lead him right into becoming a better man. He and Robin discover the share a brother and reluctantly join forces to rescue him. Robin and Guy together take complete command of the show bringing it out of the Prince John and Kate dumps! They learn to trust each other leading them to save their brother and become good friends.

Their brother Archer is as good of a shot with a bow as Robin but he is a money loving scoundrel who wants to leave England forever. He does not like Gisborne and Robin because they both have nothing, having lost their titles. He learns of his rich Sheriff sister Isabella and joins her before having a change of heart to rescue his brothers and join them. He could be a great character if he didn's suffer from the same sudden characterization switch as the other new charaters.

The devious and silly Archer.

Overall the series seemed to jump fro one thing to the next. The writers seemed to not know what they wanted as they constantly changed their characters from good to bad, bad to good. The saving grace of the series was Guy whose character was flawlessly played by Richard Armitage. Evey moment of his struggles are easy the belief as we watch him transform from bad to good on screen.

The amazing Guy of Gisborne, outlawed!

The series was okay, not great. Kate was annoying and should never have been a love interest for Robin. Tuck was boring. Prince John was annoying. Archer was iffy. Isabella had potential which the writers killed. Guy was amazing. Robin was too much unaffected by Marian. Overall 3/5 stars. A low score in my book.

I don't think I've ever written such a long review but its because I can't wait until tomorrow evenings final episode in which it has been revealed that 3/4ths of the old characters will be killed off. Marian is also set to make an appearance which is what is earning most of my attention! It will be a finale that is a must see!

Psalms 142

1. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.
2. I poured out my complained before him I shewed before him my trouble.
3. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path, In the ways wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.
4. I looked on my right hand, and beheld but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me: no man cared for my soul.
5. I cried unto thee, O Lord I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
6. Attend unto my cry: for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors for they are stronger than I.
7. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about: for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

I decided to open my post today with a Psalms I just read. God is my portion forever and my help through every thing I go through. Today I think about how he wants the best for my life and how he will always be there before me to lead me and guide me.

Proper Party Manners!

There are some things you should do at a party and there are somethings you shouldn't do!

-When invited to a party you should RSVP if you are planning to show up! Unexpected guests are one of the most frustrating aspects of a party so if you want to attend please make your intentions of doing so a couple days before the party and if you are unsure it's okay to decline or to say "maybe"; the classic maybe is better than silence.

-When you hear about a party in which you did not receive a formal invitation from the host of the party then do not just show up to the party anyway! Showing up to a party without an invitation adds even more stress than not RSVPing for a party! If you were not on the guest list than there were no plans to have you attend and in a dinner party with limited food you were not planned for! Showing up to parties uninvited is one of those rude things that has somehow become popular in our society today and it is rude! If you weren't invited it isn't always because you weren't wanted, some people want to limit the amount of people attending their party and you were one of the cuts made. If you feel that your not being invited was a mistake then it is customary to call the host first before showing up!

I just had to throw those two points out there, I have many more but they seemed a bit redundant so I stopped writing them!

Review: Britt Nicole has been one of my favorite artists since I first heard her song "You." She has been working on a new album for quite sometime and the first single from that album has now been released. The song is called "The Lost Get Found" and it is basically a song of encouragement. I love the songs happy vibe as it reminds me of the sunshiny fun summer that I am still waiting for. Overall 5/5 and I take this song as an indication of what is to come and I can't wait!

Psalms 73:25-28

25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.

26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

27 Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.

28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.

These verses have really spoken to me over my time in high school where I found myself unable to do anything without God! The greatest Hope I have is the ability to call out to him and the knowledge that He will always be there to answer me, in fact He is there before I call. Jesus is always before me and beside me and He constantly gives me the strength to endure!

"Up" review

I was going to post this at the end of the graduation photos below but I decided to make it separate!

Review:
The time has come fore me to give you a review of the Pixar movie "UP" which I saw last night with My family and Jess. What an amazing film it was, I cried three times. It was funny, sweet, and and action packed; everything a movie could want. It was a great film for families and I highly recommend it to everyone but I am going to give it 4.5/5 stars because I liked last year's Pixar flick "Wall*E" a little better (just a little though both are great). O and I saw it in 3D which I do not recommend, all it does is give the animation slightly more depth, there really aren't any (or very many) screen popping images so in terms of price see it in 2D.
